Not So Magical

The birthday party is over. Thank heaven.

Kids cried. Some kids picked on others. A lecture was given by my hubby that if children couldn't be nice to others at a birthday party they would have to go home.

It was overheard that a couple of kids thought the craft activity was lame.

The cupcakes mostly went uneaten. Except by me. I got me a good sugar high. They were goooooood.

The dog is still traumatized.

It was a recreation of Lord of the Flies except with lots of pink and purple ribbons.

I cleaned up and drank some wine.

Looking forward to getting back in the studio very soon.

Birthday parties are way overrated. The guest of honor usually ends up in tears before the party even starts- which is why we only do them every other year with friends! The other years we fo a family only thing. Hope you recover.

well after all of that trauma, it sounds like you did the most sensible thing of all.....ate the cupcakes and drank some wine! enjoy getting back to your studio! :)))

Dear Kim,

Reading your post actually caused me to smile and not at the misfortune but because as a father I could relate.

I hope you will recover shortly.

Warmest regards,
Egmont

I'm so sorry Kim, I know I shouldn't laugh - but I did, just a little. Great account of a party - I imagine the Birthday girl will still remember it as a happy day!

I especially love the last two sentences though... perfect, perfect reaction :)

I'm laughing too. Memories of many birthday parties that always led to a big sigh of relief when it was all over.
