Pieces cut and laid out. I'm liking it so far. I'm wondering if those white houses on the green jump out a bit too much. And if so, is that a problem.
Now for a bit more forced time off. School was 2 hours late both Thursday and Friday. MLK Jr. day is Monday and schools are closed. My daughter is sick right now and I'm wondering if she will be back in school by Tuesday. Thursday I will be volunteering at my daughter's school. Guess I will look forward to the week after that for a "full" week of work. HA HA HA.

Looking gooooood! As for the houses on the green fabric, I had to enlarge the photo to even "notice" them. To my eye that print blends with the others.
hope its okay if i make an honest comment...i personally would love to see this without any of the green. i think it distracts...i find everything else fascinating and interesting and want more of that industrial architectural feel that the other fabrics have.
Nellie & Paula, thanks for your input.
Paula, as far as the green is concerned, it represents life returning to New Orleans. There is new green growth & there is still plenty of dead stuff. I'd like to play around with another piece & see what happens without the green.
I don't mind the green at all. In fact, considering what it represents, I think its very appropriate.
New Orleans seems to be at odds with nature all the time so it seems to me that it would only be natural to give that as much of a voice in this piece as it does to let the city talk.
Just my opinion. :)
glad i could voice that without ticking you off. i know how it is to post work in progress. cool to hear you might play around with one without green. yeah, i get the green thing...and it makes sense. you know me, i'm all about the metal.
