The Lapse Continues

Blech.

Not a good blogging time here. Can't write 'em. Finding it hard to read 'em.

I'll do my best to read and comment, but I've got nothing good to say, so I'm not going to be saying much.

My Mother has been in the hospital for over a week now. There were be some rehabilitation somewhere soon -- the hospital or a nursing home for a bit.

This has made me feel crappier than I thought it would several days ago.

I've never had a Thanksgiving without both of my parents at the table. I'm thankful that I've had so many with them, though. Just hoping that things will go back as close to normal as they can soon.

I hope all of my friends out there have a great Thanksgiving (or had -- you Canadians).

aww shucks about your mom.

rehab is good to get her strength back even though it seems like a bit of a punishment to not get to go home on the holiday. Worth it though to keep her independence.

hope you can relax and enjoy some turkey though.

Kim!

If you are going down to Roanoke and your Mom can't be there at the table, would it be feasible to take the dinner to her and sit around and let her enjoy? Not sure why she is in the hospital, but I think if you and your sister (if Karen is there) left the kids with the hubby and create a memory with her there.

And it is o.k. if you not in the mood to blog. Tis the season to have funks, but just come back soon.

It is completely understandable that you need some time away. Take it. Breathe it all in.

Sending good wishes for your mom and a happy Thanksgiving.

Sorry to hear that things are a mess right now, Kim. Sometimes it feels like one thing right after another piles on us and we are so overwhelmed that we can't see an end to it- but in time, it does settle. Hang in there.

I don't usually comment on older posts but...
Sorry to hear about your mom. Mine is 91 and in a very nice nursing home where they look after her well. I hope you did have a great Thanksgiving. Being Canadian, this is the first time we didn't have a turkey dinner. No one was here. They were all with friends so we bought KFC for my mom. However, my daughter's friend from Portland, Oregon was visiting last week and my daughter's boyfriend is American too. We were going to have the BIG meal on Thurs. but my son said that if we had it on Sat. we could take my mom out. So, that's what we did. There were 10 for sit down dinner (random others were invited.) Great time was had by all.
